Acquisition Units: Acquisition Units consist of a high-precision AST pressure transducer with attached 30-inch cable, DIN connector, quick coupler and a spark plug hole adapter with swivel air plug. For simultaneous multi-rotor testing, one Acquisition Unit per rotor housing is required. Up to 3 additional Acquisition Units can be added to the ReCT-MMT Starter Kit for multi-rotor testing of up to 4 rotors simultaneously. These Acquisition Units are compatible with both tester models. |

WinDaq/HS: The WinDaq/Lite software that ships with our systems has a maximum throughput sampling rate limited to 240 samples/second (S/s). The total sampling rate is split between the number of rotors being tested simultaneously. That is, for a 3-rotor test, the maximum sampling rate for each of the 3 channels (rotors) will be limited to 80 S/s. Testing has shown that this sampling rate is adequate for acquiring accurate compression readings, even for a 4-rotor simultaneous test. However, if the intent is to use either tester system for detailed analysis of the compression pulses, the upgraded HS version of the WinDaq software is required. Sampling rates up to 14,400 samples/second, total throughput, are supported by the HS version. Compression pulses recorded at such high rates provide very high resolution views of what is happening inside the rotor housing during compression cycles (see high sample rate recording). The high sample rate software, WinDaq/HS, is available from RDS at the time of system purchase or at a later date at the same price. A trial version of the HS software is integrated into the Lite version allowing for up to 40 recordings at high sample rates before the trial license expires. We encourage system users to experiment with the higher sample rates to determine if the higher rates are appropriate for their applications. Details on how to try the high-sample rate trial are in the system user manual. |

Extension Cable for Acquisition Units: Acquisition Units include a 30-inch cable. Overall length of the Acquisition Unit, including the quick coupler and adapter, is about 36 inches. This length will be adequate for nearly all applications. However, if additional length is desired, RDS has an extension cable available that extends the length by 18 inches to a total of over 4 feet. |

USB Extension Cable: The standard USB cable that ships with either tester system is 6-feet long. That length limits the distance from the enclosure that the computer can be located during a test. If the user would like to locate the computer further away from the enclosure, say to inside the drivers compartment or on a workbench, RDS offers a 10-foot USB extension cable that extends the connection to 16 feet. The combination of standard and extension USB cables has been tested by RDS and no negative effects on the recordings or operation of the WinDaq programs were noted. However, we cannot guarantee that this total length of cable will work properly on computer systems with older operating systems such as Windows 95 or Windows 98. |
